Focus Forward Scholarship
Elrod Pope Law Firm is pleased to announce the creation of our Focus Forward Scholarship. With this scholarship, we will be awarding two $5,000 scholarships – one to a high school student in North Carolina and one to a high school student in South Carolina – to be put towards college tuition.
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must submit a 1,000-word essay on the topic of distracted driving. Driving is a responsibility that requires full attention. Unfortunately, distracted driving remains one of the leading causes of traffic accidents, injuries, and fatalities worldwide.
This opportunity is open to any graduating senior or current college student.
Essay Topic Description:
For this scholarship, we invite students to write a 1,000-word essay addressing the following:
■ Understanding the Issue: What are the most common causes of distracted driving, and why is it a growing problem in today’s society?
■ Personal Responsibility: Share your thoughts on the role individuals play in preventing distracted driving.
■ Innovative Solutions: Propose practical strategies or policies that could help reduce distracted driving in your community, including any technological, educational, or legislative measures.
■ Community Impact: Reflect on how reducing distracted driving could benefit your community and promote safer roads for everyone.
Word Count: 1,000 words.
Deadline: All essays must be submitted by April 28, 2025.
Winners Announced: Winners will be notified by May 28, 2025.
