About Our Internship Program

Elrod Pope Law Firm is glad to offer a hands-on Immersive Internship Program for undergraduate and law students interested in personal injury and workers’ compensation law. Interns will gain meaningful experience through real casework, client interaction, attorney mentorship, and legal training in a professional setting. 

  • Track: Summer Immersive
  • Duration: 6-8 weeks (June-July)
  • Commitment: 20-30 hours per week
  • Hours: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Monday-Friday)
  • Compensation: Unpaid
  • Credit: 1-3 hours (if applicable)

Who Is Eligible?

Our internship program is open to undergraduate or law school students:

  • With an interest in legal practice.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Pursuing a career in law (preferred).

Interns will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement (NDA) upon acceptance. Our office dress code is business casual. Interns will also be responsible for their laptops. Placement will be based on office space availability

What Will Be Your Core Responsibilities as an Intern?

Legal Work

  • Review and summarize medical records and depositions.
  • Assist in drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Draft demand letters with visual exhibits.
  • Assist with discovery and trial preparation.
  • Conduct legal research and write memos.

Client and Case Exposure

  • Sit in on depositions, mediations, and court hearings.
  • Observe client intakes and interviews.
  • Join internal case strategy meetings.

Administrative Support

  • Organize digital and physical files.
  • Proofread and format legal documents.
  • Assist with firm communications and case management.

  • Closing reflections and evaluations.

Attorney Mentorship

  • One-on-one weekly meetings (interns will prepare 10 thoughtful questions).
  • Shadow attorneys during meetings, hearings, and depositions.
  • Participate in an intern Q&A session with firm leadership.
  • Attorneys will participate in an intern welcome breakfast and farewell luncheon.
  • All attorneys are encouraged to take part in mentorship and mock trial guidance.

Projects and Learning Opportunities

  • Mock trial project: Interns will prepare and present a real (closed) case.
  • Marketing brainstorm: Interns will pitch creative firm improvement ideas.
  • Team shadowing: Time with paralegals, intake coordinators, and marketing staff.
  • Networking: Build a legal portfolio, gain mentorship, and receive references.
