Reporting a Job-Related Injury

If you suffer a work-related injury in South Carolina, you must report it to your employer within 90 days or you risk losing your eligibility for workers’ compensation benefits. Your employer then has 10 days to report the accident to the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission, which will monitor any payments your employer makes for medical bills or lost wages.

If after reporting the accident, your employer does not provide medical treatment or compensation or compensation that is not the right amount, we can help you by filing for a hearing or forcing your employer to comply with the law. This may mean that we may have to take your case through the appeals process, and we will do just that if your case warrants an appeal. Elrod Pope Law Firm has extensive experience in fighting for an injured worker’s rights. Let us fight for you.
